Why is log cake one of the celebration food for Christmas? Thanks to internet, I found out that Bûche de Noël aka Yule Log is a large log burned as part of a traditional Christmas celebration. Log cake is supposed to symbolise the Yule log and hence it is a traditional dessert served near Christmas in France and several other European countries.
